This year we’ll see the release of Platinum Dunes and Samuel Bayer’s take on A Nightmare on Elm Street. Unlike a lot of remakes, especially from the horror genre, this movie doesn’t bother me as much as the rest. From the little that we’ve seen the film will take a cue from the original 1984 version, which was a genuine horror masterpiece. A video has been released that features the creative forces behind the movie discussing their take on the Freddy tale.
The Nightmare on Elm Street featurette appears on the DVD for The Final Destination that recently hit shelves, and includes a few interviews with producer Brad Fuller and star Jackie Earle Haley. Haley takes on the role that was originated by Robert Englund and shows genuine excitement when talking about the character. We get some info on the updated look of Freddy when it comes to his extensive burns, as well as, the development of his infamous knives.
